Region All Hotel Barge KEY SKILLS:During my last few years of education I have had part time jobs in responsible positions in the retail industry. I worked last season on the MS Chardonnay river cruise ship in France and thoroughly enjoyed my time there. I was working in the housekeeping department as a cabin stewardess. I worked with a crew of all ages and different nationalities and customers of varying ages, but mostly retirement age. I have been travelling in India and am now looking for seasonal employment abroad, preferably in France, doing a similar kind of job. I’m looking forward to the opportunities that this will bring me in order to realise my potential and give me a challenge! I studied French to A level standard and have been able to converse in French whilst holidaying and travelling.I am honest and friendly, flexible and adaptable, have good Customer Focus and get on well with others. I am equally happy working individually or in a team. I believe I have the necessary skills for this post because of my experience and interest in the following areas :Achieving Results - I am dedicated to meeting deadlines and targets set for the job in hand. My university course required me to complete and hand in coursework by certain set deadlines which I was able to do. And my jobs have required me to meet set targets, working to weekly sales targets and promoting any offers available at certain times.Planning and Organising - I am familiar with the need to prioritise work and am able to manage my time effectively in order to get tasks completed on time. I am able to think ahead and identify potential problems, for example, planning ahead to ensure that enough items are available throughout the day, checking dates to ensure that the correct products are sold first and therefore making sure none that are stored go out of date.Communication and Negotiation - I can demonstrate my writing skills through the volume of large essays and specific assignments I have written throughout my time at sixth form and university. I have also given short talks during seminars, in groups and individually, demonstrating good oral skills. I have extensive experience working with others and providing excellent customer service, which required good communication and interpersonal skills with others. I have experience in two restaurants, over four years, where answering the telephone and making bookings, dealing with customer enquiries and complaints, was a regular part of the job, and I feel confident speaking and organising things over the telephone.I have experience of using IT as I have studied at University for three years and computer skills were necessary when completing assignments. I have extensive knowledge of Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel using these and other computer packages to put together assignments, inputting complicated data, incorporating tables and graphs, and also following standard styles of writing and layout for the appropriate task. I also have experience of using Microsoft Outlook and PowerPoint.Continuous Self Development - I am able to keep up to date with knowledge required to perform the job as I demonstrate this in my current job.
