Brief summary for Central canal (Loire)
The canals Loing, Briard, Lateral to the Loire and Centre connect the river Seine to the Saône and combine to make what is know as the Canal du Centre.
The wonderful viaduct bridge at Briard carries barges across the river Loire, built by Effiel. There are also other viaducts at Getain crossing the Allier river and Digion. Rogny les Sept Ecluses is a collection of seven locks built like a stair case.- Canal du Loing : 49 km : 19 locks

- Canal lateral a la Loire: 197 km: 38 locks
- Canal du Centre : 112 km : 61 locks
The junction for the Canal de Roanne is at Digoin.
